This basin for the ritual pouring of water (“libation”) was used so much that the inscription under the drain channel was damaged by the dripping water. On either side is an offering formula to the “great Isis, god’s mother” and “lady of all the gods,” that she may grant “a fine and happy life” and “strength and health” to the military man, who also bears the titles of “royal scribe” and “chief of troops.”
