Letter of the scribe Djehutymes to his son Butehamun on recto and verso

The correspondence between Djehutymes and Butehamon does not always feature discussions between father and son, as in the two previous letters. Sometimes they convey thoughtful concern or affectionate worry, expressing Djehutymes’s attachment to his family.
What means your spending up until today without having sent me one letter? Write me about your condition, whether good or bad […] your letter shall cause my heart to be elated […] Moreover, don’t neglect taking water to Amon of the Thrones of Two Lands and call upon him to bring me back from the wilds, the place where I am, for I do not sleep either night and day, being so anxious about you.
