Banner top with falcon figure

Banner top with falcon figure. The falcon has the double crown; the lituus is broken. The wings are tightly folded to the body, the chest forms a slight curve, the feathers are indicated as a loop pattern, visible on the upper left part of the wings, though the rest is covered by corrosion. The wings cross over the tail. The trousers are well modelled. The legs are together and traversed by horizontal cracks. The figure stands on a base that bears an inscription, although it is no longer legible due to corrosion. The base is connected to the capital via two side supports in the form of kneeling figures with their arms raised at right angles. The lotus-shaped capital has finely incised petal details. The capital is hollow, and is filled with the casting core material, which was carved to allow for the insertion of the banner pole. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for hollow casts.
