Imhotep has his arms bent, the hands resting on the thighs and holding a papyrus scroll on his lap. Imhotep is wearing a short kilt decorated with vertical streaks and a belt. The feet are wearing sandals and rest on a hollow trapezoidal base which is filled with mould material. A square tenon projects down from the base.
