Imhotep statuette

Figure of Imhotep, seated with an open papyrus scroll on his lap. Imhotep is depicted wearing a skullcap. He wears a wesekh collar composed of two registers, visible only at the back. The arms are along the body but are detached from it, with the hands holding a papyrus scroll on his lap. Imhotep wears a long, undecorated kilt. He appears to wear sandals, with only the straps across the instep visible. The feet rest on a trapezoidal base, from which a tenon projects down. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
