Aegis of Anubis

Banner top in the form of an aegis with jackal head, perhaps representing Anubis, wearing a wesekh-collar. The eyes, elongated by cosmetic lines, and the eyebrows are inlaid with a dark, possibly organic material. The head is surrounded by a sort of mane. The figure wears a tripartite wig and an elaborate wesekh-collar, with two hawk heads in profile on the top and consisting of 8 decorated bands interspersed with thin plain bands. Traces of gilding are present on the left part of the wesekh-collar. The back of the head is hollow and forms a sort of tube. On the tube, below the wig, there is a band decorated with an incised garland of flowers and petals. Below the decorated band, there are three holes for fixing the object to its stand. A small part of the tube, on the right side, is broken. The object is mounted on a modern wooden base. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for hollow casts.
