Part of a sistrum with hathoric protome. The protome features a tripartite wig, with inlays for metal inserts, of which a fragment survives on the back side. The bovine ears are finely detailed. The face, pentagonal in shape, displays elongated eyes, visible eyebrows, a broad and flattened nose, full lips, the mouth slightly curved in a smile; the chin is squared. Atop the head is a decorated Egyptian cavetto capital, surmounted by a band of uraei crowned with sun discs, which are recessed for the now missing inlays. Flanking the protome are two large uraei, connecting the base, the protome, and the capital, joined by a continuous layer of bronze. Both uraei wear rush crowns topped with sun discs. The protome rests on a rectangular base inscribed on all four sides. Small traces of gilding are visible on the inscription, on the left and back sides. The lower part of the object consists of a lotiform capital, beneath which is a raised band composed of four rings. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for hollow casts.
