The viceroy of Nubia Panehesy is one of the protagonists of the events that set alight the Theban region at the end of the 20th Dynasty. It is to him that Ramesses XI entrusted the task of elimination Amonhotep, the High Priest of Amon, who had become too powerful and dangerous in his eyes. Thanks to his Nubian troops, Panehesy succeeded in restoring order in Thebes, but due to these troops' rebelliousness subsequently fell in disgrace with Ramesses. The decree, in epistolary form, dates back to slightly more than a year before that event: the pharaoh asks the viceroy to collaborate with his steward and cupbearer Yanusa, in order that some Nubian goods be brought to the court.
