Sekhmet statuette

Standing figure of lion-headed Sekhmet. The headdress is missing. The goddess has a tripartite wig. The facial features of the head are not well visible because of the corrosion. The mane is indicated. Traces of the linen bandages – now hardened by corrosion – are visible on the back of the head, back and left calf. The goddess is wearing an ankle-length, tight-fitting dress. Sekhmet’s arms are along the body, with palms pressed onto the thighs. The feet rest on a base, from which a square tenon projects down. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
