Mummy of a baboon wrapped in a seated position with its hands resting on its knees. The external bandages are covered with a thick layer of dark resinous material that creates a kind of carapace.
The linen used to wrap the animal was possibly impregnated with resinous material, but it is mostly hidden under a coating of resinous substances. Textiles are still visible where the blackened surface is broken. The inner bandages are dark brown. The outermost bandages are blackened by embalming agents, dirt and age. Finally, a resinous material covered the mummy. It is now damaged, and chert and pebbles adhere to it. A small break through the bandages at the back of the neck reveals the baboon’s yellow fur.
The skeleton is incomplete. The animal is a juvenile baboon (probably Papio anubis). The inner space corresponding to the skull, thorax, and abdomen is filled with mixed material.
On the blackened bandages, on the baboon’s lap, is a yellow vertical inscription in a column.
