Osirian figure containing a mummy

A wooden Osirian obelisk figure on a rounded base, it is glided only on the front side. It is carved from a single piece of wood. The Osiris figure is sitting and wearing the atef crown, the eyes are painted in blue. An opening through the base and back contains an animal mummy and some tissues that fill the lower part. The small animal is carefully wrapped in plain undyed textile decorated with strings in a diamond pattern. The hole is tightly secured by a string. The bottom is further cushioned with fragments of fabric. The mummy is shaped so that a head and body are indicated, with the feet pointing up. It is very difficult to determine the animal: it might be a shrew.
