Mahes statuette

Standing figure of Mahes represented as a lion-headed, anthropomorphic deity, striding with left leg forward. The god has an atef-crown on his head. The crown is tall in proportion to the figure and is decorated with a uraeus. Behind the head is a suspension loop consisting of two bands. The deity's right arm is bent, and the hand on the chest holds an instrument, possibly a sickle. The left arm is straight along the body, with the hand clenched into a fist. The deity likely wears a straight apron-like kilt that reaches above the knees. The musculature of the calves is subtly indicated, and the feet rest on a rectangular base. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
