Handle of arched sistrum

Fragmentary arched sistrum with a Hathoric protome. The upper part consists of a structure with a base and two vertical side elements, now broken. Beneath this structure is the head of the goddess, wearing a wig, the lappets end in curls. Atop the head is a bell-shaped capital. The bovine ears are positioned on either side. The face is triangular. The protome appears on both sides of the object and features a plain collar. On the sides, the collar, head, and upper structure are connected by two uraei wearing the white crown. The protome rests on a rectangular base. The handle consists of a palmiform column; beneath the capital are four raised ring bands. The shaft of the handle is smooth and terminates in a button. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
