Amulet depicting the god Bes

Figure of Bes. The god wears a stylised feathered headdress. His head is large, with a snub nose and a beard. The leonine ears are modelled, and a broken suspension loop is present at the back of the head. The god is depicted in a squatting position, with his arms bent at a 90-degree angle forward; the forearms are broken. The god has bow legs, and the leonine tail reconnects to the base. The feet are not defined, and the statuette terminates in a small base. The figure is overall heavily worn. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
