“Pilos”-type helmet

This small bronze helmet, possibly a votive gift brought by a Greek soldier to a temple, carries on the brim the name of an Alexander, son of Nicanor. In the Ptolemaic period there were great numbers of Greek soldiers and Eastern Greek mercenaries in Egypt.
