Handle of a lamp terminating in a panther’s head. The head and the handle were cast separately and then assembled post casting. The handle ends in a flower composed of two pairs of petals on the sides and below, and seven petals arranged along the upper edge. The panther’s head is rendered with great detail: the jaws are wide open with the tongue protruding. The handle bears a decoration consisting of a central line running along the upper surface, flanked by a sinuous line on each side. The lower edge is broken. The interior of the handle is filled with the casting core, which is black, with a fine and even grain. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for hollow casts.
