Lamp graced with two sandaled feet and images of Bes

Lamp in the form of two feet with a figure of Bes. The upper edge of the ankles is damaged. The feet wear sandals. Behind the ankles is a square projection, probably the remains of a handle, now broken. The feet rest on the ovoid, domed body of the lamp, which continues into a double-volute nozzle with a rounded tip and a wick-hole. On each side and at the back there was originally a figure of Bes, but only the one on the right side is preserved; of the others, only the feathers of the headdress remain. Bes wears a feathered headdress; the face has feral features with a snub nose, leonine ears, and a beard. The god is depicted naked, squatting, with his hands resting on his joined legs, and standing on a small rectangular base. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for hollow casts.
