Lamp in the form of a bird

Lamp in the form of a bird, probably a goose, with the head slightly turned to the left. The neck is short and thick, and the rounded body forms the reservoir of the lamp. The wings are decorated with five oblique lines. Two openings are present on the upper surface: the filling hole at the centre, with a raised rim, and the wick hole at the tail. The base of the lamp is irregularly circular and shows the remains of a circular-section tenon. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for hollow casts.
