Coffin for a cat

Large and partly fragmented hollow-cast copper alloy animal mummy coffin in the form of a seated cat with the tail on its right, placed on a wooden base. The cat’s head has been reattached to the body after recent conservation and cleaning that also reversed some earlier 19th century conservation treatments. Organic remains indicate that it once contained a cat mummy.
