Cat statuette

Figure of a cat seated in an attentive pose, with the tail along its right side. The ears are triangular and facing forward, with triangles in the centre. The muzzle is very worn, and the eyes and mouth are barely visible. The back forms a pronounced arch. The front legs are together, forming a V shape. The tail is curled along the right side. The hind legs protrude from beneath the body. The figure rests on a base shaped like sign sA (Gardiner V17), denoting protection. Two broken circular tenons project down from the base. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
