Falcon statuette

Figure of a falcon. This object may have functioned as a standalone votive figure or have been mounted atop a bronze animal mummy coffin. The figure appears rather stocky in form. The head is small, with pronounced eyebrow ridges, recessed eyes, and a short, curved beak. The wings are tightly folded to the body and cross over the tail. The trousers are delineated, and the legs are rendered in detail. The figure stands on a thin base. A broken square-section projects down from the base. An irregularly shaped hole is present at the centre of the base. The object is probably made in the lost-wax technique for hollow casts.
