Raptor mummy

A raptor mummy with stylised animal head and mummiform body. The head was wrapped separately and is a bit squashed and unevenly covered with a dark resinous/oily substance. The bottom third of the mummy is covered by a folded piece of linen that provides support and gives form to the foot of the object. The foot was further reinforced by extra linen and thread, wound around spirally.
The CT scan shows that the package does not contain a complete mummy. It is not possible to tell if the feathers are from a raptor or not. In the head area there is radio-opaque material around the feathers. The beak is created in textile with the resinous material.
