Raptor mummy

A roughly teardrop shaped bird mummy, spiral bound with broad bandages. One side is domed and the other flat. It is very heavy and dense. At least three different qualities of linen were used to create this mummy. The most external bandage has self-bands and retains its starting border and a selvedge. A third textile was found in the tail area.
CT scans show that the package contains the body of an adult bird, possibly a raptor, without skull. The legs are flexed at knee height and otherwise extended. The mummy appears to be covered in resinous material, which is more abundant at the caudal end. The body was eviscerated.
