Fragment of a mirror handle

Fragment of a mirror handle with a female head surmounted by a papyriform capital. The capital, which spreads widely laterally, has broken sides. At the top, a rectangular pierced element is inserted, fixed with an iron nail visible on both sides of the capital. The petals of the papyrus flower are finely detailed. A yellow-green patina is visible on the capital. Under the capital is the head, probably female, shaved and adorned with a possible uraeus or another decorative element. The face is finely executed and well proportioned. Made in the lost-wax technique. It is unclear whether the piece was cast solid or hollow.
