The hieroglyphic inscriptions on the rim of this basin give the names and titles of two individuals. On the long sides we read the name of Perim, preceded by the title of “courtier” ("rekh nysut", literally: “acquaintance of the king”), on the short sides that of a woman named Shepset, who bears the title "mitret", whose meaning is uncertain. of the person believed to be the owner of this mastaba tomb. These inscriptions identify them as the owners of the mastaba tomb where the basin was found, still in its original position, near a plastered mudbrick recessed niche built in the shape of a false-door stela. The object must have been used for the ritual presentation of funerary offerings.
