Statuette of Isis suckling Harpocrates

Seated figure of Isis suckling Harpocrates (identifiable with the so-called ‘Isis lactans’ motif). The goddess wears a Hathoric crown consisting of a solar disc with cow horns resting on a modius adorned with a uraeus. She wears a tripartite wig. Isis brings her right hand to her left breast, while with her left hand she supports the head of Harpocrates. A circular-section tenon projects down from the feet. The figure of Harpocrates is stylised, with a uraeus on his head, the side-lock of youth on the right side of his head, ending with a curl on his shoulder. The arms are along the body, and the legs are together. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
