Aegis fragment (Khonsu protome)

Head of a falcon-headed god, identifiable with Khonsu, probably part of an aegis. The god wears a headdress consisting of a lunar disc with the crescent moon decorated with the uraeus. The god wears a tripartite wig. The head is hollow, and, on the inside, there is a yellowish-white material, probably plaster. The edges of the wig show a flat surface that broke off, probably identifiable as a wesekh-collar. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for hollow casts.
