Sphinx statuette

Figure of a recumbent sphinx. On the head it appears to wear a nemes with a uraeus, rendered in a stylised manner. The human face is schematic. The sphinx has a false beard. The forelegs are joined, the tail curls along the right thigh. A rectangular-section tenon projects down from the base. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
