These 34 fragments were found in 1903 by the team of Egyptian workers led by Ballerini, a trusted collaborator of Schiaparelli’s, during their excavation of the area of the temple dedicated to the creator god Re at Heliopolis. The depicted elements include the gods Geb and Seth on a throne and the final part of the name of pharaoh Djoser (Netjery-khet) inscribed inside the serekh, the motif representing the royal palace with its typical recessed façade.
