Cat statuette

A figure of a seated cat in an attentive pose, with the tail along the right side. The ears are large and triangular, forward oriented. The face is stylised, with visible eyes and a protruding muzzle. The neck is long, and the back forms a pronounced curve. The front legs are broken. The legs are joined, and the figure rests on a shaped base, possibly in the form of the hieroglyph sA (Gardiner V17), denoting protection. A rectangular tenon projects down from the base. The object is made in the lost-wax technique for solid casts.
